Every Day with Jesus
Message from Pastor Duane Brooks:
I suppose I fell in love with singing about the same time I fell in love with Jesus. At least in my mind the events are inseparable. The son of a devout Baptist mom, I remember countless children’s Sunday School assemblies singing “Do Lord” and the like. About the time I learned to walk (which was later than most kids I’m told), some anonymous saint in a church nursery must have sung it to me first. Do you remember the words?
“Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before
Every day with Jesus I love him more and more
Jesus saves and keeps me and He’s the one I’m waiting for
Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.”
Consider this your invitation to spend every day with Jesus in 2010. Invite some friends to join us as well if you like. Every week day, over the next several months, I will send you a new devotional from the story of Jesus in the Gospel of John. Our focus is not primarily academic. What we want is to see Jesus at the start of the day and then like the two disciples to ask, “Where are you staying?” And to hear Jesus’ resonant and confident voice say, “Come and see!” Come with us, and see Jesus. Rest in his presence. Find life! Thank you for joining us on this journey!
